What is pure omega 3 algae oil?
Algae oil is made from algae, the tiny plants that grow in the oceans and rivers. Algae need only a few nutrients to survive and, under the right conditions, develop into true omega 3 bombs. Algae growers therefore provide the optimum amount of sunlight, glucose, CO2 and the ideal water temperature.
Algae grown properly are rich in the important omega 3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. In fact, they are the only organisms on earth that produce EPA and DHA, which is why many other organisms depend on algae for their survival. A good example is the small fish at the bottom of the food chain, which are especially high in omega 3 because they themselves eat so much algae. These small fish are in turn eaten by larger fish, which in turn are eaten by even larger fish. Those fish are caught and eaten by humans and praised for their large amount of EPA and DHA. However, the original and pure source of omega 3 is the algae these fish ingest from their natural diet.
