Adaptogenic herbs

The adaptability of adaptogenic herbs

Adaptogens are herbs and they get their name from the Latin "adaptare," which means to adapt. This is exactly what these herbs give us support in. They possess the unique ability to adapt to the body's needs. They can have a stimulating effect as well as a calming effect. Adaptogen herbs are not yet very well known in Western medicine, while in Eastern cultures these healing herbs have been used for centuries.

Benefits of adaptogens

Adaptogens help us adapt to stressors and reduce the body's stress response. Examples include hormone regulation, making our cells more stress-resistant or strengthening the immune system.

Adaptogens include, for example, Rhodiola. Rhodiola is one of the most well-known adaptogens, and various health-supporting properties are attributed to the plant's extract*. Among them:

  • Rhodiola's benefits include fatigue*
  • Rhodiola may help support the nervous system*.
  • Rhodiola contributes to good cognitive activity and normal blood circulation*.
  • Rhodiola help support the nervous system*.

What is Rhodiola?

Rhodiola is a plant that occurs naturally in cold parts of the world. These include the Arctic, the Rocky Mountains and mountainous regions of Europe and Central Asia. The Rhodiola plant is also known by its botanical name, Rhodiola Rosea, and is often referred to as pinkroot in the Netherlands.

Rhodiola, as you read, has several health benefits. When you start taking supplements it is important that you get good advice from a therapist. This can be done through our supplements advice, both online and by phone.
